KANDINSKY, MÜNTER AND THE BLUE RIDER
Tate Modern, London, 04.08.2024
Bossi met Kandinsky and Münter in Munich after moving there from the multicultural city of Trieste. She was drawn to Werefkin's circle and became a member of the NKVM. Here Bossi portrays Werefkin in her role as founder and host of the artistic and intellectual salon.
This space became a vibrant meeting place to discuss the latest ideas on music, literature, theatre, philosophy and art. Werefkin spoke Russian, German, English, French, Polish, Lithuanian and Italian, enabling her to cultivate a highly transcultural atmosphere among Munich's local and international progressive circles.
Lenbachhaus Munich, on permanent loan from The Gabriele Münter and Johannes Eichner Foundation, Munich
